Alexander Mercks is one of the most renowned handpan virtuosos and takes you to other worlds through his music. With his fascinating playing style, Alex takes his listeners on an emotional journey. He discovered his love of music at a young age, but was mostly a listener and dancer. He found protection and vitality in the diversity of music. In 2014, his journey accidentally led him to the handpan, a unique instrument that he learned self-taught. With deep understanding, Alex creates complex, soulful melodies, harmonies and rhythms that showcase his technical skill and emotional depth. His music reveals himself and creates connecting experiences that leave a warm afterglow that stays with listeners for a long time. Over the course of his career, Alex played at numerous festivals and concerts worldwide, fascinating audiences with his creativity and passion. He toured with Malte Marten as Yatao for seven years and achieved worldwide success live and online. Alexander Mercks is an artist who continues to push the boundaries of handpan music. He inspires and captivates audiences with his unique sound. As one of the most famous handpan artists in the world, he had great success with his debut album “Osmosis”. In 2024, Alexander Mercks will go on a European tour to present “Osmosis” and new, unpublished works.
